The Magical Mickey Mug

Hey guys . . . anyone sick of hearing me talk about Disney?  Because since I’ve returned from my trip, I’ve talked about Disney here.  And then I also talked about it here.  And then, I even talked about it some more here.  Disneydisneydisneydisneydisneydisneydisneydisneydisneydisneydisney!!!

Well, if you are indeed completely and utterly over all discussion of that redundant D word, you may want to skip this post.  However, if you just stopped reading after that last paragraph, then you failed to realize that this isn’t any old post about ((whisper~disney~whisper)).  Oh no, this is a post-Disney supermegaspectaculargasmic . . .

GIVEAWAY!!!

That’s right.  While I was away with my family for a fun-filled, yet exhausting trip to the big D (and I don’t mean Dallas), I was thinking about all of you, my dear readers, sitting at work or at home, not getting to walk miles and miles and miles around 4 different parks.  And while I was scoping out which goodies to buy for myself and my friends, I also made sure to find something that I could give to one lucky reader.  And I did.  I found it.  I think it is super rad, and seriously almost kept it for myself.  But, as you know, I’m a giver.  So, I would never do such a thing!  That would just be wrong.

IMG_1291 IMG_1290

How freaking rad is that?  It looks like 2 mugs stacked together, but in reality, it’s just ONE!  Magic.  BAM.  Only the best for you, dear readers.  Only the best.

Ok, task time . . . this is where I tell you what small animals you must sacrifice special something you need to do in order to qualify to win this gen-U-wine Disney Perks Parks souvenir.

So, they say that Disney World is The Happiest Place on Earth.  Based on my experience there, I would say this is a highly idealized statement.  True, there is fun to be had at the numerous parks sprinkled about Orlando, but mostly it is exhausting and frustrating, if I’m going to be honest.  And not just for the parents.  The kids get worn out as well.  Every single one of us took naps each afternoon during the week we were in Disney.  It was necessary so that we didn’t end up murdering each other.  So, while I would say that the week we spent in Disney was enjoyable, if I were to be asked if it is the Happiest Place on Earth, I would have to say, at least for me personally, that it is not.

What is then, you might ask?  Well, for me, the happiest place on earth is my bathtub, filled with hot bubbly water, with me in it, relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine.  No hubs, no kids, no obligations or responsibilities.  Just soaking and relaxing, letting myself drift away into whatever fantasy world I am reading about.  For me?  That’s heaven.

So, in order to be entered into the giveaway drawing, I want you to tell me what your happiest place is.  Is it an amusement park?  A secluded island somewhere?  Your couch at home surrounded by your family?  It can be anywhere that you feel happiest.  Tell me all about it in the comments, and you will be entered to win that awesome mug up there.  I will have one of my kids pick a name at random.  And if you win, you can fill it with whatever beverage makes you happiest.

Good luck to all.

You’ve made me nostalgic for Disney. Too bad I can’t see myself going back anytime soon.

Can I still win this mug that says “Coffee” if I’ll only be putting hot chocolate in it?

My happy place is anywhere there is hot chocolate…in that mug…with cookies to dunk in it.

Well, it won’t be in this mug, but maybe another will work just as well. And then maybe throw in some Ameretto. 😉

In my head Ireland is my happiest place. But, since I’ve never been there to prove or disprove this theory, I would have to agree. YOUR bathtub would be my happiest place, with bubbles and a book. I say your bathtub because mine is super small and I can’t even stretch my legs out. 🙂 And, I guess since I don’t drink coffee, I will have to put Dr. Pepper 10 or a frozen pina colada in my new mug. XOXO

Hmmm, yeah, I was wondering where you were going with that. Although, my bathtub IS big enough for two. 😉

I have had tiny bathtubs all my life, so when we were house shopping a few years ago, a big soaking tub was on the top of my must have list. It is heavenly!

My happy place is with my friends. Usually it’s at a game night enjoying the company, or even one on one time watching a movie and discussing life.

My happiest place is outside in the backyard either with good friends or a good book sun shinning, cold drink in my hand and my 4 boys playing without asking me every two minutes for something. I love them, but sometimes the word “mom” is like nails on a chalk board 🙂

Right now my happiest place is being in my coffee shack, all alone. The Glorious Aloness of it all! Sure I have an occasional customer, but my afternoon shift is slooooow because hey, it’s the afternoon, and double hey, it’s Utah, where people think coffee is evil. So, ultimately my happiest place would be me, alone in my coffee shack, watching BBC crime dramas on Netflix, sipping a mocha coconut latte from that Mickey Mouse Mug.

The happiest place on earth for me would be the beach – no question. A beach chair, my family and husband, a Wawa sub and salt and vinegar chips, and a great book would keep me happy all day long. (Oh and sunscreen, but that doesn’t make me happy. In my dreams, I would be tan and be able to wear a two piece without scaring mankind because I would be able to eat chocolate and be skinny, ya know?)

And if I win that sweet mug, I will be fighting my husband for it because it is SUH-WEET!

Well, since I did not want to cause marital discordance so early on in your marriage, it’s probably good you didn’t win. Right? Hello?

And yes, why in the world can’t chocolate be a diet food? Hmph!

Chocolate IS good for you (I think I read that somewhere), just not in the quantities that I eat it in. I am very sad that I did not win said mug, but I guess it will keep the marital discord on things like dirty socks on the floor instead of mug wars. 😉

    2. My happiest place on earth is… (brace yourself) a low-key, outdoor bar on a beautiful day, preferably waterfront, with good company, not too crowded – with easy access to clean bathrooms with no line. And maybe they let you bring dogs, too. And someone else is paying. And I look amazing. Okay I’ll stop now.

My happiest place on earth is a stolen afternoon nap with the puggles. So I guess technically the place is my bed. But if I say “in bed with my dogs”, that’s a little misleading. The only thing they do well is nap.

Well, at least they have a snuggly skill. The only skill my dog has is the ability to have me yell at her for being obnoxious and tearing up papers in the office. And also? I could use a nap right about now. With or without puggles.

My happy place is at night on the couch watching tv. I feel like my best naps are always on the couch. Then I go to bed and it’s just not the same.
IDEALLY, my happy place would be in a bathtub full of chocolate… Chocolate syrup coming out of the faucet, chocolate towels…just CHOCOLATE. Mmm. 😀

My happiest place on earth is a sunny day in Glengarriff, Ireland, popping back and forth between the Spinning Wheel and the Shamrock Shop on the main street, walking around the point park and boat launch for Garnish Island, and then hiking the two miles through the village and up the mountain path to one of homes belonging to my cousins. My Nana grew up in Glengarriff, and when I’m walking around there, everyone I pass on the street is a relative by birth or marriage. I’ve spent five weeks of my life in that village, and they’ve been some of the best weeks of my life.

(On a personal note, thanks for making the theme of this contest “Your Happiest Place On Earth.” I’m from and work in Boston, and I really needed a few minutes to mentally go to my happy place this week,)

That sounds like a lovely place. Especially filled with so many of your extended family. I have never been to Ireland. Something I hope to rectify at some point in my life.

If you and your family get the chance to go someday, take it. It’s a fantastic place for a couple of boys to tumble around. And I’m utterly biased, but Glengarriff is a slice of heaven plunked between two terrifying mountain passes.

My happiest place on Earth is a deserted tropical beach by myself, half in the water and half out, with the gentle, warm ocean lapping over me, and a giant mai tai. No phones, no worries. Itapepea – as they say in Tahiti – no worries. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. It’s snowing here – heavily – or did yesterday anyway. There’s still at least 6 inches of snow over everything and I am sick to death of it. I want to wear my cute little tees from Loft and shorts and walk off my hybernation blubber. I need me some beach!!!

My, oh I am so happy, happy, happy to finally be here, place is a short stretch of beach in Northern California. I’m talking about the real Northern California, like almost to the Oregon border, NOT the San Francisco Northern California (which in my opinion is Central California). The sun doesn’t shine there as much and the beaches are a little rockier, but it’s okay because I am sitting the beach, it is a little foggy, and I am sifting through the coarse sand looking for agates. I sit there for hours, sifting and digging and watching the waves, collecting the occasional agate to add to my stash. After a few hours, or five or seven, it’s back to the campground at Patrick’s Point, for cocktails around the campfire, and counting my rocks. I’ve been visiting that beach nearly every year of my life, but probably have only been collecting agates since I was 9 or 10 (and I am at least five times that age now, yikes!). An agate is semi-precious gemstone, sometimes known for it’s spiritual and healing properties.

I just went there in my mind, now I’ll be late for work, but I really don’t care. Thanx Misty, for asking the question, I needed that break:-)
